GRSP Host Family needed for 2020-2021Since 1946, Rotarians in the state of Georgia, USA, have promoted world peace through understanding by offering scholarships to international students for one year of study in Georgia colleges and universities. It is a unilateral scholarship, not an exchange program, nor is it a needs based scholarship. All three Georgia Districts participate in the program. Georgia Rotary Clubs sponsor students recommended by a Rotary Club in their home country. In Georgia, the students become adopted members of a Rotarian “host family”, living on campus at the school they attend. Each year more than 50 students from all over the world make friends in the US and learn about differing cultures and life styles. Rotarians believe that ‘Peace is Possible’ and through GRSP Georgia Rotarians promote international goodwill through the bonds of friendship and understanding. We are need of a host family for in Thomasville for the next academic year. If you would like to fulfill this rewarding assignment or have questions, please see John Brown. We need to have the host family in place by January jabrown1245@gmail.com
Hands On Thomas CountyTHANK YOU to all who helped with this community project.

Rotarians Needed To Make a Difference and Change LivesThe Thomasville Rotary Club has made a difference in the lives of Thomas Counties’ youth for many years. One of the many successful endeavors of the Thomasville Rotary Club has been CharacterCounts. Character Counts was created in 1992 and is the largest character development organization in the world.
Our Rotary Club has underwritten the cost of this character building program for many years. Our members volunteer to facilitate discussion sessions in four local schools and youth development organizations on the Six Pillars of Character which are taught as part of the organizations curriculum. Six Pillars of Character: - Trustworthiness
- Respect
- Responsibility
- Fairness
- Caring
- Citizenship
Character Counts Centers of Influence - Boys and Girls Club
- Vashti
- Scott School
- Community Resource Center
Responsibility Two volunteers will facilitate Character Counts sessions in one of our organizations. The session lasts about 45 minutes. A great session is when the students carry most of the conversation and the volunteers have a chance to see the hope and joy of our future. Ideally it would be great for a volunteer to be willing to facilitate for six sessions or about 6 hours of service in 2020. Volunteers will be equipped with discussion materials and outlines before each class. Please email Matt Brown at Matt.Brown@TCFederal.com
