Last Week's programFor last week’s meeting, we had a packed program and a packed meeting room. Total attendance was one hundred and one. This included Student of the Month and Laws of Life participants. Both programs were quite inspiring. On display were young people carving out their place in the world and making a difference in the lives they touch. Behind it all, is the Rotary Club of Thomasville, pushing progress forward. Take a bow, Thomasville, and continue to take advantage of the opportunities opened to you by Rotary. We are only five weeks away from our big day, our one hundredth anniversary. You can share in the celebration on 6 May 2021. That is the date we will take a group photo at the new Courtyard by Marriott Hotel. Thanks go out to Jay Flowers for once again sharing with us some history of our club. Last week Jay focused on our 50th or Golden Jubilee Anniversary. This history helps us see the progress the club has made and the work that still needs to be done. Absent from the Golden Jubilee anniversary celebration was women and people of color. The progress made assures us that will not be the case with our centennial celebration. One of the highlights of Jays presentation was our own George Stephens who was one of twelve inductees for the 50th anniversary celebration. Thanks George, for the many years of “Service Above Self.” Please keep Russell Chubb and his family in your thoughts and prayers. “Never take someone for granted. Hold every person close to your heart because you might wake up one day and realize that you’ve lost a diamond while you were busy collecting stones.”
