Our speaker for Thursday, July 9 is Rick Ivey, executive/artistic director of the Thomasville Entertainment Foundation (TEF). He'll be sharing highlights from the upcoming 2026-2027 season.

Founded in 1937, TEF is a volunteer-led, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization serving the South Georgia/North Florida region. The organization’s work includes:
Members and guests are invited to hear from Rick Ivey and learn more about TEF’s programs and impact in the region.
We will begin our “Name That Rotarian” segment this week. Club members will be able to guess the identities of other members by seeing early photos along with some fun facts about them.
Complete the questionnaire and submit your photos to Anna Lee to play along.

The board will meet Monday, July 13 at 5:15 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce. All directors and/or their deputies should attend and send reports to their fellow board members at least a day in advance for review.

Members are welcome to attend. In fact, all red-ribbon members are required to attend at least one board meeting to complete their red ribbon program.

Join us Wednesday, July 15, at Grassroots Coffee anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. for a cup of coffee and a casual conversation with fellow Rotarians! Stay long enough to enjoy breakfast and get to know your fellow Rotarians better or grab your coffee to go. No agenda, no program.
Please take a moment to review your contact information in the Rotary directory to ensure it is accurate and current.

Keeping your information up to date helps the club communicate effectively. If you have questions or need support, please reach out to Sally.
District 6900 has released a four-year analysis of our club's fundraising. The analysis includes Annual Fund, PolioPlus, approved Foundation Grants, Other Giving, and Endowment contributions for each year.
We surpassed our 2025-2026 Annual Fund goal of $26,000 by $3,150, with per capita giving of $235. The district per capita giving rate was $178. Our four-year Annual Fund giving average was $35,262.

GRSP giving is reported separately.
In 1896, Silvester Schiele had loaned money to a friend from whom he had been unable to collect. There was a young lawyer who frequently passed by his office, so one day Silvester asked him for advice on how to collect. Thus, the beginning of a friendship with Paul Harris, the attorney, led to the founding of the Rotary Club of Chicago.
Mark your calendars!
The Rotary Club of Thomasville and United Way Golf Classic is Saturday, Aug. 22 at Country Oaks Golf Course.
