Sam Caudill is serving as the Interim Middle School Director at the Brookwood School for the 2017-18 school year. Prior to his retirement in 2016, Sam had served as Head of the Middle School at Providence Day School in Charlotte, NC for twenty eight years. Providence Day is an independent school of 1600 students (five year olds - 12th grade) with 420 students in the Middle School. During his tenure as Middle School Head at Providence Day, the Middle School division grew from 150 to 420 students. In addition to his administrative roles, Sam has been a teacher and coach in both public and independent schools in Charlotte. In serving these schools, he has served as Dean of Students, Department Chair, Director of Financial Aid and Faculty Chair for a number of committees including Annual Fund, United Way, Long Range Planning and the Fine Arts Building Campaign. His work with Middle School students and parents over forty eight years has spanned all or parts of six decades. Sam holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Austin Peay State University and a Master of Arts in Middle Grades education from Wingate University. Sam has been married to his wife, Susan, for forty two years. They have one son, Jacob, who is a deputy sheriff in South Carolina.
