Michelle is the Work-Based Learning Coordinator for Thomas County Schools. She serves junior and senior high school students to coordinate work site placements, related to the student's career pathway. The program provides guidance and encouragement to students interested in learning work tasks and job responsibilities. She has been teaching at Thomas County Central High School since 2009. She is also an adviser for TCCHS FBLA program. Her goal as Work-Based Learning Coordinator is to provide the best learning environment possible so that they can become successful business men and women with a competitive edge for the global marketplace. On August 8, 2016, Michelle was awarded the title of "top Gun SBL Educator" through a partnership between the Georgia Department of Education's Career, Technical and Agricultural Education division; the Career, Technical and Agricultural Education Resource Network and the Work-Based Learning/Youth Apprenticeship Affiliate of the Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education. The three organizations teamed up to sponsor a unique staff developing training for WBL coordinators who have excelled in a specified set of performance criteria. Twenty teachers/WBL coordinators were invited to attend the Top Gun training, representing all regions of the state.
