Friday, March 7 Volunteer: Garrison-Pilcher Read-A-ThonRotary
has signed up to participate in Read-A-Thon at Garrison-Pilcher on March 7 as part of our Youth Services project, and
we need at least seven volunteers to help us fill up our timeslots. Each
reader will select a book from a pre-selected cart and spend 15 minutes reading
to their assigned first- or second-grade classroom as part of Read AcrossAmerica Week.
To
sign up, contact Chandler Giddes at (229) 201-0472. If more than seven people
would like to participate, Rotary can ‘adopt’ additional times.
Thursday, Feb. 27 Thomasville Antiques ShowThe Thomasville Antiques Show begins Thursday evening with the preview party and continues throughout the weekend. At tomorrow's Rotary meeting, featured Antiques Show exhibitor C. Duncan Connelly, owner of Atlanta-based Thirteenth Colony Arts, will discuss his inventory of 19th- to mid-20th century American paintings, sculptures, and works on paper. He'll talk about his antiques' place in the fine arts and antiques market as well as their relevance to the Thomasville Antiques Show. The Thomasville Antiques Show raises funds for non-profit organizations that directly benefit children’s programs in Thomasville and has raised more than $3.3 million in the past 35 years.
