The club will meet on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 11:30 a.m. at Second Harvest Food Bank to sort and pack produce for our monthly food distribution. After we finish packing, enjoy a box lunch with the team or grab one to go.

Our produce distribution will be Saturday, Oct. 17 at Weston Park. Set up begins at 7:30 a.m. and distribution begins at 8:30 or as soon as we are set up.

We distribute approximately 7,000 pounds of fresh produce and healthy frozen proteins each month. Join us and bring some friends to support this important cause.

Thomasville Rotarian Featured in October Rotary Magazine

There’s a several-page feature in the October issue of the Rotary magazine dedicated to longevity and tennis. The article includes quotes from our own Eugene McNease, past chairman, International Tennis Fellowship of Rotarians, as well as perspectives from other ITFR leadership.

The article shares a warm, informative look at how tennis intersects with long-term wellness and community connections through Rotary’s International Tennis Fellowship.

If you have the magazine at home, the feature begins on page 14. Read it online here. Check it out!

FYI: To read the article online, you will need to register your email address. You can also subscribe to the digital version and cancel your printed, mailed copy if you would like.

Beginning Next Month
Rotary Online Auction

Planning is underway for our third annual online auction and holiday party. Please consider whether you or your friends and family members have items that could be added to this year's auction. For example, a large percentage of our proceeds in both 2024 and 2025 came from vacation rentals.

The auction committee has been hard at work:

  • 8 vacation stays secured
  • At least two more being solicited

Other items secured include:

  • Guns
  • A band performance at your next event
  • Lessons for tennis, fly fishing, Mahjong
  • Athletic pursuits including a pickle ball session at a private court, a YMCA family membership for a year, and hot yoga sessions
  • Infrared sauna visits
  • Taste of Thomasville food tour
  • A Vespa scooter
  • Ceramic art

The list is continuing to grow!  If you have access to a phenomenal vacation spot or other auction item or are willing to help underwrite the events, please connect with Marta Jones-Turner.

The auction will end on Thursday, Dec. 3 at our annual holiday party. The auction benefits the Big Impact Project, supporting fresh produce markets — which distributed 70,000 pounds of food last year, provides vegetable grow bags at two markets each year, and more.  RSVP for the event here.
