U. S. Ambassador (RET.) Tod Sedgwick

Our guest for the April 5th Rotary meeting will be U.S. Ambassador (RET.) Tod Sedgwick, a commissioner on the World War I Centennial Commission, who will speak about, "The Great War - Why is it The Forgotten War and Why Should it be Remembered?"

Tod graduated with honors from Harvard College with a degree in History and became a journalist, publisher, entrepreneur, Ambassador and has been active in the non-profit sector.

He served as U.S. Ambassador to Slovakia from 2010-2015, has started and sold a number of news and publishing businesses and serves on numerous non-profit boards. While at Harvard he served as assistant editor of the Harvard Crimson. He is a passionate hunter and advocate for wetlands conservation and timber management. Residing in Washington, D.C., his family owns Red Hills Lumber Company in Thomasville. He is married to Thomasville native Kate Watt and is brother-in-law to our club's Will Watt.
