Join us for a film about the integration of the high schools in Thomas County. It is a documentary that features the football coaches and others that helped manage the atmosphere around Thomasville. It highlights all the positives of conscious community involvement while avoiding the obvious conflicts of the forced integration. Several of the participants will be available to answer questions. It is a very positive and uplifting story. Andy Jones is one of the featured speakers in the film.
August 24th, Thomasville Rotary will be hosting it's annual Golf Outing at Country Oaks benefiting United Way. Volunteers, sponsors and teams are needed! Please help support this worthy fundraiser to benefit United Way.

Jeremy Emmett from Southern Lodging, Inc. provided us with information regarding the Marriott in downtown Thomasville. The site is convenient to the downtown and historic districts and is anticipated to open in August of 2020.
Architectural drawings show a facility that is open and welcoming to the public and will blend with the historic look and feel of Thomasville. It will provide 100 rooms, accommodating up to 400 guests. Three meeting rooms will be available that can accommodate 75 people each, or be combined to seat 150. They are estimating generation of $3 million in revenue for Thomasville businesses. The Courtyard by Marriott hotel is a $12 million investment and brings up to 50 new jobs.
Our greatest strength as an organization comes from our membership, so that is why there will always be a continued effort to attract good Rotarians engage them early, and keep them around for a lifetime of service! Know someone interested in joining Rotary or learning what it's about? Bring them to Rotary!
