This Weeks Program!

GRSP Awards, 2021-22 Student Karoline Petersen

Please join us in welcoming our 2021-2022 Georgia Rotary Student Program, student Karoline Gadegaard Petersen from Køge, Denmark. Karoline is the 91st GRSP student sponsored by the Rotary Club of Thomasville. This year (Fall of 2021-2022), GRSP has a class of 40 from 16 countries, attending 23 different Georgia colleges and universities. Karoline is attending Valdosta State University, and Jill and F. Wilson Carraway III serve as her host parents. She comes from a family of six and has moved a lot. Karoline also lived in Sweden for a couple of years, and for eight years in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She describes growing up in a country so different from the Scandinavian culture as interesting and instructive. Karoline was involved in Debate Club and Model of the United Nations at her high school. Both of these clubs are spoken in English, which assists her in being able to communicate well in English. She is also fluent in Swedish. This semester she has classes in International Business, Business Administration, Economics, and Sociology. She will share a bit about her background, home country, and aspirations with GRSP.

Also this week, Georgia Rotary Student Program Donor Awards will be presented that have been earned from April 1 through September 30, 2021. Debbie and Wallace Goodman will be informing individuals receiving awards in advance of the meeting. In addition, individual letters will be distributed officially informing each Rotarian of his/her current GRSP Endowment Contributions and Levels of Recognition and Contributions needed for the next level. This officially introduces our Annual Giving Campaign for the GRSP Endowment for 2021-2022. Katheryne Fields, GRSP Marketing and Development Director, and Scott Rich, GRSP Trustee will be on hand to recognize donors and answer questions.
