Thursday, Aug. 7 Ga. Rep. Darlene TaylorThis week, our guest speaker will be Georgia State Rep. Darlene Taylor. She will give a report on the Georgia legislature, sharing important legislation that came out of 2025 and items to look for in 2026. Bring your questions to make this a more informative, interactive session about the state of our state. 
Thursday, Aug. 7 Wine or Whine + Going Away Party for IvanAugust's Wine or Whine is Thursday, Aug. 7 at Kin Wine Market & Lounge, 204 S Broad St. It also a special event: a going away party for Ivan Santoyo, our first-ever Rotary Youth Exchange student who will study in France for the 2025-2026 academic year, so we are featuring a French theme. Vive la France! 
Monday, Aug. 11 Board MeetingThe board will meet Monday, Aug. 11 at 5:15 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce. All directors should attend and send reports to their fellow board members at least a day in advance for review. Members are welcome to attend. In fact, all red-ribbon members are required to attend at least one board meeting during their time as a red-ribbon member. 
Thursday, Aug. 14 Blood DriveThe OneBlood Blood Mobile will be onsite at Vashti on Thursday, Aug. 14 during the Rotary meeting. All donors will receive a gift and a wellness checkup, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, iron count and cholesterol screening. To pre-schedule your donation time, please sign up at Rotary on Thursday. Don't forget to bring your ID when you arrive for your appointment. 
Thursday, Aug. 14 Jennifer Green, Executive Director of Halcyon Home
On Thursday, Aug. 14, our guest speaker will be Jennifer Green, executive director of Halcyon Home. She will provide an update about the facility, which provides a safe temporary shelter for women and their children who are victims of domestic violence. Halcyon Home not only provides shelter, but it also provides counselors, advocates, legal experts, and volunteers to provide care and support. Wednesday, Aug. 20 Coffee ChatJoin us Wednesday, Aug. 20 at Grassroots anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. for a cup of coffee and a casual conversation with fellow Rotarians! Stay long enough to eat breakfast or grab your coffee to-go. No agenda, no requirements. 
Thursday, Aug. 21 UPDATE: Sort & Pack Canceled; Vashti Meeting Will Support the HomelessOn Thursday, Aug. 21, we will NOT meet at Second Harvest to pack meals. Instead, we will meet at Vashti for a regular, 12:15 p.m., meeting to pack care packages for the homeless in our community. Care packages will include items like deodorant, feminine products, wash cloths, toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hand sanitizer, snacks, and bottled water. They will be distributed to the homeless coalition and Thomas County Cares. 
Saturday, Aug. 23 Rotary Golf TournamentThe Rotary Club of Thomasville and United Way Golf Classic, benefitting our Rotary Big Impact community projects and the Thomas County United Way, is Saturday, Aug. 23 at Country Oaks Golf Course. United Way supports 18 local agencies, directly impacting the lives of countless residents. Your participation and support are vital in making this event a success. We need volunteers on the afternoon of Friday, Aug. 22 and morning of the golf tournament. To volunteer, sign up here or contact Scooter Grubbs or Mary Beth Donalson. Sponsors should complete this form and return it to Mary Beth.

- Thursday, Aug. 14: There will be a blood drive at Rotary. Sign up at this week's meeting or contact the blood bank to reserve your time in advance.
- Wednesday, Aug. 20: Coffee Chat at Grassroots Coffee. Stop in anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 8:15 for coffee and casual conversation with fellow Rotarians in a small group format.
- Thursday, Aug. 21: Instead of packing food for Second Harvest this month, we will have a regular meeting at 12:15 p.m. at Vashti to make care packages for the local homeless community.
- Saturday, Aug. 23: Rotary-United Way Golf Tournament
