This Week Program!

Thomasville Center for the Arts serves as the creative hub for the arts in Thomasville, we bring together over 85,000 youth and adults to experience the arts across the community. In the fall of 2020, the Center’s historic building will open our new season with an enhanced exhibitions program featuring the works of seasoned and emerging contemporary artists, alongside educational traveling exhibits, and our notable collection of sporting and wildlife art. More than 30,000 visitors will enjoy performances in our newly renovated 480-seat theater presented by our long-time resident arts partners: Thomasville Entertainment Foundation, South Georgia Ballet, South Georgia Youth Orchestra, and Camerata South Opera.

In addition to exhibitions and performances we, along with our partners, present after-school visual, dance, music, drama, and design thinking classes to over 300 students daily. Anchoring our youth programming is a multi-disciplinary fine arts program for 350 students from our neighboring Scott Elementary School during the school day.

Along with programming in our facilities, we present experiences in The UnVacant Lot public art space, two large-scale arts festivals, city-wide public art projects, city arts and culture planning, and publish THOM magazine, which profiles the people and ideas shaping the creative life of our community.

The Center of Arts is lead by Executive Director and fellow Rotarian  Michele Arwood. Under her leadership the Center for the Arts is having a true impact in the community and reaching the community.

The Month of March Recap!

This Month has been packed with a lot of exciting things. We have had really great programs and we are still making a difference in the community. Membership of Rotary develops leadership, public speaking, social, business, personal and vocational skills as well as improving cultural awareness. Rotary is a non-political, non-religious humanitarian organization. Each Rotary club uses its own judgment in conducting its meetings in a manner that reflects Rotary's principle of tolerance and emphasizes shared Rotarian service ideals and projects.

Here is what you may have missed this month. We recognized our outstanding students of the month, let's celebrate them again. Miracle Dennis, Sally Powell, Jack Cantrell, Alexis Solano, and Radiant Sapp. Awesome job for being leaders in your school and excelling academically!

Fireside chat is a symbol of growth and new membership. Thank you Harry T, for always being a great host and welcoming us to your fish camp. To all new members we are excited that you have joined us and look forward to you plugging in and finding your passion. There is a place for everyone in Rotary, if you are not sure don't be afraid to ask!
