What are YOU looking for at District
Conference? District 6900 returns to Jekyll Island, Georgia March 21-24, 2024,
with SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE. Are you looking for opportunities to learn
more about Rotary? Training
opportunities abound as DGE Gordon Owens hosts District Training Assembly on
Friday, March 22. There will be even
more learning opportunities on Saturday, March 23, as we host breakout sessions
both before and after brunch on Saturday morning.
Are you looking for fun and
fellowship with family and friends? Join
us on Thursday, March 21, for a party at the Beach Pavilion with food, fun,
music, and games. You can hang out in
the Rotary Disco Lounge (House of Friendship) throughout the weekend. Jekyll Island also offers lots of
recreational activities, to include golf, tennis, and pickleball. Oh,
and by the way, there’s the beach! While cooler temperatures are still
lingering around most of the country, Jekyll Island averages around 73 degrees
during the month of March, with low humidity. It’s perfect weather for walks on the beach, outdoor activities, and fun
for the whole family! This island
features a mix of calmness and curiosity with its white sandy beaches, natural
beauty, and tons of greenery. This city also houses almost 33 historic
structures. There is something for
everyone on Jekyll Island.
Are you looking for an
opportunity for service? We are even working
with the local Boys and Girls Club for a service project on Friday
morning.
The general sessions will be
informative and entertaining. And there
will be awards!
Join us as we Amplify Rotary and
feature the Lady with a Song, none other than our District Governor André
Marria at the beautiful Jekyll Island Convention Center. Several hotels on the
island have room blocks reserved through February 21, 2024. Jekyll Island is booming, so you are
encouraged to book your hotel room NOW! Once
our room blocks are sold there is no guarantee that additional room nights will
be added. We have room blocks reserved with The Westin Jekyll Island, which is
within walking distance of the Convention Center; the Courtyard by Marriott and
The Residence Inn, which have a free island-wide shuttle; Hampton Inn &
Suites; Seafarer Inn & Suites; Holiday Inn Resort; and the Beachview Club
Hotel. There are other hotels on the
island, as well as short-term rentals and camping opportunities, but as of
right now only the hotels listed here are offering reduced rates for conference
attendees. We will keep you posted if
other hotels are added.
